LIFTING LAYERS by STUDIO DLF

On the occasion of Gallery Weekend Berlin 2026, BOLON once again opens the doors of its Berlin showroom, inviting visitors to experience an installation that places material and movement at its core.

With LIFTING LAYERS by STUDIO DLF, we present a kinetic spatial installation that translates the design principle of the Riff collection into an immersive experience. At its centre is the article Blackish Marine, whose depth and tonality oscillate between ultramarine and black. Arranged in a modular grid and set into motion through rotation, it unfolds a visual dynamic that shifts between calm surfaces and rhythmic structures.

The installation reveals how profoundly the perception of a material can change through orientation, light and movement. Surfaces tilt, rotate and respond to shifts in perspective, continuously generating new spatial orders. What appears static becomes alive; what seems fixed begins to transform.

Light and rotation interact with precision, extending the textile logic of the collection into space. An original sound composition complements the visual layer, translating the installation’s rhythmic structure into an acoustic dimension. The result is a layered interplay of material, space and perception.

Founded by Daniele Luciano Ferrazzano and run together with his brother Michele, STUDIO DLF operates at the intersection of product and space. Their work combines constructive clarity with an experimental, intuitive approach, creating immersive environments where emotion and design logic converge.

With LIFTING LAYERS, BOLON and STUDIO DLF continue their dialogue on materiality and spatial experience, inviting visitors not only to observe a surface, but to perceive it as a state in transformation.
