In September, Bolon, Danish design brand &Tradition and Scandinavian design retailer LYS became temporary flatmates in Hamburg. Together, we moved into the LYS LOFT for Zimmer frei – an exhibition bringing our worlds together under one roof.
From 7–10 September, furniture, flooring, colour and materials came together throughout the different living spaces of the LYS LOFT at Eppendorfer Weg 8. The loft is run and curated by LYS Vintage, a wellestablished destination for Scandinavian design in Hamburg. Rather than presenting individual products in isolation, they were naturally integrated into the existing interior, showing how Bolon and &Tradition work together within the residential setting of the LYS LOFT.
Bolon flooring was installed throughout the loft, giving each room its own distinct character. In the kitchen and living area, our RIFF tile collection in Blackish Red and Naturelle Red was laid in a large-scale checkerboard pattern. In the bedroom, BKB in Sisal Fawn revealed a quieter side of Bolon. Its natural, textile expression blended effortlessly with the room’s warm, neutral palette and complemented the relaxed, residential atmosphere. In this way, Zimmer frei showed how differently Bolon flooring can transform a space depending on colour, installation and its surroundings.
In the children’s room, our expressive Bolon Studio concept came into play. Link tiles from the Artisan and Botanic collections were combined to create a playful geometric pattern, highlighting the creative possibilities that emerge through the interplay of shape and colour.
Alongside Bolon, new pieces from &Tradition such as the new Hi Lo sofa became part of the temporary home, complemented by the carefully curated interior of the LYS LOFT.
Over the four days, we welcomed architects, interior designers and press for personal appointments, breakfast sessions and open-door afternoons. The intimate setting made room for individual conversations, new connections and a closer look at the products, materials and stories behind the brands.
