We are proud of our work resulting, which has resulted in well-designed vinyl floors that are free of toxins and can be cleaned to 99% using plain water. Moreover, our floors emit so few emissions during their lifetime that they are approved for installation in sensitive environments such as, for example, hospitals.
toxin free design floors
phthalates and heavy metals
cleaning without chemicals
A Bolon floor can be cleaned to 99% using plain water. Nor is any special surface treatment required for the floor to look new and fresh during its useful life. The factory and production are also cooled in a closed system with its own well - no water consumption, no chemicals.
We use two types of additives in our flooring: plasticisers and stabilisers. These have been, and are in many cases, a problem with PVC. Bolon has been a forerunner and early on removed the heavy metals injurious to the environment and health as well as the dangerous softeners that can be endocrine disruptors. This means our floors are free of toxins.
Bolon introduced biological plasticisers as far back as 2010 and was, thus, the first in the world with this process. Our floors obtain the best classification* of emissions during the product lifetime. This means that the floors can be used in hospitals and other sensitive environments.
*Bolon flooring has the M1 class from the Building Information Foundation RTS and also the FloorScore classification, where the emission of volatile hydrocarbons (TVOC) is measured at less than 0.5 milligrams per cubic meter of air.
