All floors are designed and manufactured in Sweden, where we have full quality control at every stage of the process, using machines developed and customised for our own production. If the material is in stock, delivery time is one to two weeks. If the material has to be manufactured, delivery time may be up to six weeks. Bolon has a central warehouse in Ulricehamn, Sweden.

Bolon flooring complies with the requirements in the European, standard En 13501-1, fire classification of construction products, and has achieved the rating just below non-combustible material. Yes. Bolon flooring is tested to the EN 15114 standard for textile floor coverings and its stress classifications, as defined in EN685. Floors are graded into different classes according to their resistance to wear: class 31 for light traffic, class 32 for moderate traffic and class 33 for heavy traffic. All of Bolon’s standard collections have class 33 or 32 ratings which means they are suitable for hotels, shops and offices. Class 33 is recommended for high traffic areas, such as shops, open-plan offices and public halls.
Bolon flooring is not an entryway flooring system and does not keep moisture or dirt form being tracked indoors. On the contrary, Bolon flooring should be completed with an effective entryway system that stops dirt and moisture at the door.

Yes, in treatment rooms, corridors, guest rooms, cafeterias and other public areas. Bolon is not recommended in surgery rooms.
Bolon’s offer include flooring and rugs. All our terms including warranty refers back to our offer of flooring and rugs. Bolon is a professional floor covering for commercial areas where all technical properties of the material correspond to this use. We focus on installation in offices, hotels and retail stores.
Yes. Bolon is also used in “kindergartens” and “play rooms”. The structure is soft and smooth.
A Bolon floor can be installed anywhere that would normally have a textile floor. Our collections target different categories of end user, from offices and hotels to exclusive boutiques and exhibition spaces. Bolon’s floors are certified as meeting all the standards for floor coverings in public buildings.

Bolon flooring is water resistant and does not allow water to penetrate. However it shall not be used as waterproofing / sealing layer in areas like bathrooms.

Depending on time and pressure it possible shows visible marks after removing furniture. Normally the visible mark will disappear time.
Bolon flooring does not generate a static charge but it cannot be classified as an electrostatic dissipating floor. Bolon flooring has been tested and fulfill the requirements of the European Directive EN 1815.
Bolon is classified according to EN685. Depending on product use classification is 32 (General commercial) or 33 (Heavy commercial).
No, however our flooring is developed for indoor installations. Outdoor installation could probably discolour the flooring depending on UV light.
The width of the roll is 200 cm and the standard length is 25 m. Shorter rolls could exist due to end of batches etc. The standard tile is 50 x 50 cm.

If a small area has been damaged, e.g. with a burn mark, you can easily stamp it out using a “saddler’s punch”. If the area is larger, it can be cut away by laying a piece of excess flooring over the damaged spot and cutting through both layers to obtain a suitable-size replacement piece. We recommend using tiles if there is considerable risk of the floor becoming damaged.
Adhesives should be designed for vinyl flooring. Bolon does not provide adhesives. See here for recommended adhesives by the manufacturers. For 50 x 50 tiles, you can use our NoGlue Tape.
Yes. It is important with a leveled subfloor for a good result. Make sure that the adhesive used is compatible with vinyl and the subfloor.

Yes, they are. However, it depends on how you treat it. Our flooring gets even more sustainable if you take good care of it and use it to its full potential, e.g. use if for its full product lifetime instead of changing it after a short period of time.

In order to promote transports with as little environmental impact as possible, we only choose vehicles that we have approved beforehand through investigating their ISO certification or environmental policy. All of Bolon’s floors are free from hazardous plasticisers and stabilisers such as phthalates and heavy metals. Moreover, the floors have very low emissions throughout the useful life of the floor.
We are completely transparent and have third-party certifications for both environmental performance and content declarations.
Our vinyl raw material is ecolabelled and the flooring complies with strict requirements for the eco-labelling of buildings. Bolon is also classified as best health class by the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association. In addition, Bolon has many different certifications covering both health and the environment, as well as declarations that completely openly show the components and environmental impact.
Yes, all our manufacturing and our headquarters are powered by 100% renewable energy for both electricity and heat.
Bolon has efficient solutions for both the transport of raw materials and the end product to customers. Our transports represent only about 2% of our total climate footprint.
Yes, we have performed so-called EPD's, life cycle analyses, on all our collections. This made it clear that the biggest climate impact comes from the production of the vinyl raw material. We will reduce this climate impact in the coming years.
All of our collections contain recycled materials. The proportion of recycled material varies between 10-30% of the total material used.
Plastic can be a beneficial material for flooring in particular. This totally depends on the type of plastic used and how it is handled. The plastic we use is hardwearing with a 10 or 15 year guarantee. Our raw material, PVC, can be recycled up to seven times and it is completely free of additives such as phthalates or heavy metals. Our floors have low emission values and are, therefore, approved for hospital environments. The floors are also easy to clean, usually, plain water is all that’s needed to clean them. Based on these facts, a plastic floor from Bolon is many times a good environmental option compared to other flooring.
The PVC we use comes from environmentally certified factories that have low emissions and efficient energy use. Moreover, Bolon's flooring has been free from toxins for many years, without additives such as phthalates and heavy metals. The plasticisers used today are even permitted in children's toys.
Our flooring consists of about 1/3 fossil raw material, which is significantly less than other vinyl flooring. The remaining 2/3 consists of salt and calcium oxide, of which there is a very good supply and it is also harmless from an environmental standpoint.
