Bolon brings new collection Elements to Shanghai Design

For the sixth year in a row – the UK event company Media 10 prepares to host China’s foremost design event, Shanghai Design. While bringing together and showcasing some of Asia’s most influential creators, the four-day fair provides an international platform for designers and architects from all over the world. Like its hosting city, Design Shanghai is known for its international blend of eastern and western philosophies – providing an interesting meeting place for design cultures.

Bolon’s attendance in Shanghai Design this year is well-timed, as the newly launched Elements collection has a ‘Scanasian’ design expression – blending Nordic functionality with the minimalist ideas characteristic of Asian design. The Elements collection will be showcased in Bolon’s installation located in the Contemporary Design Hall (Stand No. E2-90).

Neri&Hu, Design Republic and Festival of Design

Bolon’s installation at Shanghai Design has been designed by the architectural design practice Neri&Hu, which is run by the founding partners Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu. The firm has its headquarters in Shanghai, where the architectural duo also runs ‘Design Republic’ – a design hub, meeting place, gallery, shop and event space in a former colonial police station in the city’s Jingan District. The flagship store is quite unique as it offers a selected collection of products, many of which have never before been available to consumers in China. Simultaneously with the Shanghai Design fair, the Design Republic will host the interdisciplinary design fair Festival of Design in which Bolon will participate.

Annica and Marie Eklund, owners of Bolon, will visit the design fair as well as taking part in the Festival of Design.
