We collected some of our most beloved projects and presented them in a magazine named Projects We Love. The magazine features interesting interviews, beautiful projects and compelling facts about the company.
Never underestimate the power of innovation. It leads us to new opportunities. It fires our imagination. And at Bolon, it’s at the heart of everything we do.
We are Bolon
True innovators dare to experiment. They don’t hesitate to leave their comfort zone. At Bolon, creating products with real aesthetic and functional value will always be our passion - and courage and curiosity will always let us express this in new forms.
Welcome to Bolon – Innovators at Heart.
The latest expression of a relationship that started in 2011, Bolon by Jean Nouvel Design is a handmade industrial flooring product with architectural sensibilities.
Over two years, more than 150 woven samples were evaluated. Conceptual ideas and experimentation became functionality and countless small details refined. Designed to be an architectural element rather than simple flooring, the collection’s stripes amplify spatial geometry – and these linear expressions lend design unity and a seamless appearance to spaces of any size.
A result of our creativity in the studio and by the loom, with Bolon Rugs our original vinyl based product remains – however we have enhanced this with wool and glitter yarn, creating a softer look and feel and an expression that is both physically and aesthetically new for Bolon.
Wave’s form is both organic and graphic, conveying movement as well as a sense of calm. The design is highly adaptable, allowing users to create different shapes by combining two or three tiles together or allowing the direction of the pattern to change between two rows.
Furthering the collaborative spirit of “Innovators at Heart” is a presentation of upholstered furniture by top international brands – Cappellini, Kettal, BD Barcelona, Moroso, Thonet and Gärsnäs. Innovators like Doshi Levien, Monica Förster and Färg & Blanche have interpreted Bolon textiles in voluminous design objects.
At the exhibition, Bolon presented a completely new material and its first two expressions, the rug collections Villa La Madonna and Duet. The visitors experienced when Jean Nouvel and Bolon took a new look at creating handmade, industrial flooring and we revealed our latest Bolon Studio tile Wave.
